CHIPOTLE’S SCHOOL SPIRIT BOGO DELIVERS RECORD-BREAKING RESULTS

Back-to-school promotion was Chipotle’s #1 BOGO of all time and the largest gross sales day in company history

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., August 21, 2026 – Chipotle Mexican Grill (NYSE: CMG) announced today that its School Spirit BOGO delivered record-breaking results on Thursday, August 20, as students and fans across the country showed their school pride for a free entrée.

The promotion achieved Chipotle’s highest BOGO redemptions ever, exceeding the company’s previous record—its Matchday Soccer BOGO—by 25%. The day also generated the largest gross sales day in Chipotle history.

“School Spirit BOGO delivered record-breaking results by showing up in a moment that matters to our guests with real food and great value,” said Fernando Machado, Chief Brand Officer at Chipotle. “The response reinforces the power of creating timely, relevant experiences that deepen connection with our guests and drive the business.”
